TL;DR:
Matrix Primatama played a key role as the construction partner in a research project to develop energyโefficient building standards for midโ and lowโincome apartments. We carried out an experimental build to test the Nearly Zero Energy Building concept alongside experts and government bodies. The results will lay the foundation for a new Indonesian National Standard (SNI), shaping future homes to be more efficient, sustainable, and truly valuable for the community.
As Indonesiaโs housing development continues to grow rapidly, a new awareness emerges: every building we create should not only provide shelter but also reflect our responsibility toward the environment. Out of this awareness came a strategic research initiative on developing energyโefficient building standards for midโ to lowโincome apartments..
Matrix Primatama is proud to be one of the key partners in this effort, working alongside experts from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), and international institutions such as the BUESA Lab of Hiroshima University.
Our Role in the Research
Matrix Primatamaโs involvement goes far beyond a formal partnership. In this project, we were entrusted to carry out the construction of experimental buildings that served as a realโworld testbed for the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) concept. the Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) concept..
Through our extensive experience in construction, we brought proven field practices that allowed the researchersโ theories to be tested and refined. This included:
- Applying passive design principles during construction.
- Using carefully selected materials based on energyโefficiency criteria.
- Implementing work methods that minimize waste and reduce energy consumption.
Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
This research demonstrates how crossโdisciplinary collaboration can drive meaningful change.
As a contractor, Matrix Primatama worked side by side with academics and government bodies to ensure energyโsaving concepts could be truly implemented on site. The experimental construction we delivered stands as a concrete example that NZEB principles can be applied even in affordable housing projects.
We believe that research without implementation remains only a concept. Our role is to bridge ideas and reality through strong technical competence and experienced project management.
Expected Outcomes
Through this contribution, Matrix Primatama supports the creation of a draft Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for energyโefficient buildings. This standard will soon guide midโ to lowโincome apartment projects across the country.
For us, this is not just about technical innovation. It is about shaping a better quality of life for the future. With lower energy consumption, operational costs will decrease and communities will enjoy a healthier environment.
Our Commitment
Our involvement in this research is clear evidence that Matrix Primatama is committed not only to shortโterm project goals, but also to longโterm contributions toward a more sustainable construction industry.
We will continue to support initiatives that bring new value to developmentโinitiatives that deliver a positive impact for generations to come.
Matrix Primatama
Together, we create living spaces that are meaningful, sustainable, and inspiring.
